WARNING SIGNS THAT YOUR MAIN SEWER LINE IS CLOGGED

Having one clogged drain in your home is one thing, but an entire sewer line? Then what? Since a clogged sewer line can potentially cause major problems throughout your entire home as opposed to just one pipe, it’s important to be able to recognize when one might be starting to form. Let’s take a look at some warning signs you should know:

Several back-ups: Having multiple drains that are backed up at once can suggest that the trouble you’re experiencing is caused by your sewer line. If you have a toilet, shower or tub that doesn’t seem to function properly, check the remaining fixtures to see where they stand. When they are all failing to perform, your sewer line could definitely be the culprit.

Unusual reactions from certain fixtures: When flushing your toilet, you never think that water will start to come back up through your shower drain, right? Though this is the normal expectation, when sewer lines are clogged it could cause this type of situation to unfold. Therefore, if you notice that certain fixtures are affected by your use of another, it’s time to call in a professional to have your sewer line looked at.

Obvious drainage at the clean-out: The state of your clean-out is a sure way to determine whether or not your sewer line is clogged. Ultimately, if water or sewage waste is backed up in your clean-out, then you most definitely have a clog. This is because you shouldn’t be able to see any water or waste in this part of your system in the first place, so noticing it signals something is wrong.
