Plumbing Maintenance Can Reduce Plumbing Disasters

Getting your home on a maintenance routine can go a long way in keeping your pipes safe and your disasters prevented. Many people think that routine maintenance is a luxury; only call someone “if you need to”, and just make do until that time comes. But realistically, by the time you are facing a plumbing disaster, the damage is already predetermined. Instead of waiting for something to break (which it will), give us a call and set up a six-month maintenance routine.

What Happens During a Maintenance Check?

Maintenance checks vary between houses; some will require more focus on kitchens, others could require more focus on fixtures or drains or valves. However, since the maintenance will be happening at least twice a year, not including emergencies, you will find that these are great times for small fixes to be implemented.

Further, routine maintenance checks work on their own schedules too. For example, if you have a new water heater, there isn’t any need to check it unless you notice something wrong. Your maintenance checks will be faster than when a disaster happens, and everyone is scrambling.

Basic maintenance usually includes a check-in with any and all of the systems that touch the water in your house. Heating systems and filter systems are common in this category. There will also be a check-in with the hoses and fixtures around the outside of the house. Unclogging any blocked drains is also a pretty common occurrence, you shouldn’t be dealing with slow water flow. Finally, any sort of tune-ups should also be performed. As not doing tune-ups is a very common reason that leaks begin to happen.
